Sokea is 43 years old. She is married and resides with her three children in Kampong Cham Province, Cambodia. She has been involved in growing rice and fattening up animals for more than three years, earning approximately $5 daily. Her husband runs a sawing service (he cuts down the trees to make firewood). He earns about $8 per day.
Sokea is requesting a loan of $1200 to purchase rice seeds, fertilizer and pesticides to use for farming. This purchase will help her crops grow well and provide a high yield. In the future, she would like to expand her business and help her children earn bachelor’s degrees. Moreover, she hopes to build a new house as soon as possible.
