Thelma is a 45-year old resident of Labo, Ozamis City. Thelma provides for her 2 children from the little amount of 5,000 PHP she gains monthly from her own piggery business. She has been operating the business for 3 years as an aid to the income gained from her husband. However since 2007, she's been a member of GDMPC, and she has applied for a loan at GDMPC micro finance of 3,000 PHP to buy feeding supplies. Thelma wants to make expansion to her business one day.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
