Sigei is 29 years of age farmer in the Litein area in Kenya, who is married with one child. He has been in farming for three years producing tea, vegetables and maize to sell in the local market.
Sigei is requesting for 50,000 KES to buy a chuff cutter to boost his business and help improve his standard of living and to provide for the basic needs of his family.
Sigei’s main challenges are high competition and lack of a readily available market.
He thanks Juhudi Kilimo for being so efficient in its work.
To facilitate a partnership between Kiva and Juhudi Kilimo, K-Rep Group (Juhudi Kilimo’s 100% owner) has guaranteed Kiva funds in the event of institutional default. Lenders should be aware that the risk of borrower default remains borne by the lender.
