Badru
Badru is 33 years old and lives in the town of Nakifuma in Uganda. He is married and has 4 children who are all currently in school. For the past 10 years, Badru has been working hard to manage his shop, where he sells coffee seeds, husks and maize.

To help expand his business, Badru has requested a loan of 3,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more coffee and maize, and will help Badru to generate greater profits and improve his standard of living by meeting his basic needs. Badru hopes that in the future he will be able to buy a processor machine for coffee.

Badru is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs, like Badru, who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
