Jeriel lives in Jimenez, Misamis Occidental. She has been making her living by providing transportation services for three years, to support her child. For this 27-year old mother, nothing would make her more happy than seeing her child successful in their studies.
Jeriel gets an income of 5,000 Philippine pesos a month from her business. She joined GDMPC this year and has borrowed 7,000 Philippine pesos to repair the vehicle used in her business. Her plan in the future is to hopefully improve her business.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
