Josie is 41 years old and lives in Palayan, Aloran. She is married and a mother of two children. Josie is a farmer. She plants, harvests and sells rice for a living. She has been in this work for 7 years and earns 20,000 per month. She has requested a loan of 50,000 to purchase fertilizers and seedlings for the next cropping. Josie has been a member of GDMPC since 2011. In the future, Josie hopes to gain more income from this production and purchase more space for her plantation.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
