Rolando is a 38-year-old man who is married and lives in Oroquieta City. He has five children. He makes a living by buying empty bottles or used materials suitable for recycling and sends them to companies for a good price. He has been doing this for five years and gets a monthly income of 4,500. Rolando has requested a loan of 5,000 at GDMPC to buy more empty bottles or used materials suitable for recycling.
He been a member of GDMPC since 2011. He hopes to sustain his business for long, long years, find good buyers and earn more income from it.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
