Jose Antonio
Jose is married with four children. He lives in the community of El Bálsamo and is a farmer. His grandfather taught him to work the land: how to prepare it, clear it, plant seeds in the right spot; how to negotiate the prices of his crops despite not having an education. He has dedicated his life to working the land. During the low season, he travels to Costa Rica to work as a day labourer on farms there. He later returns for the second sowing cycle. One of his great satisfactions in life is knowing that his crops are in great demand from clients who come from outside of Teustepe. For this reason, he needs to expand his production. He needs this loan for the purchase of supplies and to pay labourers to sow corn, beans, and sorghum. this loan will help him to better maintain his crops and to bring them in on time. One of his plans is to buy animals to raise and sell; this will bring in an additional income which will help him to improve his family's quality of life.
