James is 66 years old and has been in farming for 22 years at his rural home. He lives there with six children, aged between 22 years and seven years. His farm produces milk, peas, kale, cabbages, and maize for the local market.
James has requested a loan of KES 60,000 from Juhudi Kilimo to help him construct a dairy unit for his farm. He says the income will help in educating his children and leave his monthly pension income to meet his family's other basic needs.
James says poor road networks, lack of capital, and undeveloped local markets are his main challenges.
