For the past six years, she has been selling different types of fish. Her sales are conducted at her house. She buys the fish and then sells her product to the customers in her neighborhood. Carmen has always been in the retail trade since she previous raised and sold pigs.
She is requesting her third loan in the amount of 10,000 HNL. The money will be spent on more fish to sell, but 30% of the loan amount will be used to pay back a personal debt. Carmen has maintained an active business, but she wants to continue growing and use her earnings to acquire a membership into an association of fish vendors.
