Georges is a 47-year-old Lebanese married man living with his wife and his two children, who are attending school. He has been working as a taxi driver since 2008. His main route is between his town and the surrounding villages, and he also makes private transportation trips upon client request. His business income is very important as he represents the only income source for the family.
Today, he is requesting to borrow a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to perform the needed maintenance on his car, such as painting, repairing the body, etc. He notes that these repairs will make his transportation safer and will help him attract more clients. This is his first Kiva loan, and he hopes to be able to improve his business as well as his family’s financial situation.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
