Fatima is a 35-year-old married Lebanese woman. She lives with her husband and four children. With the cooperation of her husband, she is capable of satisfying her family's needs and offering them a fair way of living. She owns a small minimarket where she sells all kinds of dairy and day-to-day products in addition to soft drinks and many other products. As for her husband, he has been serving in the Lebanese army for 20 years.
Today, Fatima is asking for a loan from Kiva Partner Ameen s.a.l. to purchase the necessary food provisions for her minimarket. In that way she will be able to diversify her items and increase her revenues and thus better her family’s way of living. One of her greatest dreams is to educate her children and see them achieve good positions.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
