Margaret is married and has five children, only one of whom goes to school. She also takes care of additional family members (grandchildren). She's had a business selling charcoal for 10 years. She sells her charcoal at wholesale to all people. She has applied for a loan of 2,500,000 Ugandan shillings from MCDT-SACCO so she can buy more bags of charcoal.
Margaret earns additional income by selling piped water. Her major business challenges are transportation and thieves. She is hoping to buy a delivery van, and also to build rental rooms. She resides in her own house and her family has access to electricity but not to piped water. Her monthly expenses include feeding the family and school fees.
