Anito, 48 years old, is a married entrepreneur with 5 children living in Tambulig, Zamoboanga del Sur. He earns income from operating a transport service business. It started 10 years ago and he earn PHP 6,000 a month. To improve his business, he is borrowing PHP 50,000 from Kiva's partner, GDMPC, to purchase accessories and tires for his business. He joined GDMPC in 2011. Before long, he is hopeful of the possibility of expanding his business.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
