Lali is from Martvili district, West Georgia. She is 52 years old and lives with her husband and two grown sons. The family is involved in an agricultural business. In particular, they have a small dairy farm with a milk cow whose milk is used for dairy production. Lali produces sulguni (Georgian pickled cheese) and sells this at the local market.
In addition, they grow nuts on family-owned land. Part of the harvest is sold at the local open market and the rest is used for the family's needs. Lali’s husband builds wood stoves which are the most popular heating appliances in the region. Lali works hard, but the family still doesn’t earn enough income to make some savings and improve their living conditions.
Lali has requested a loan to purchase construction materials for building wood stoves. After the materials are purchased, Lali’s husband will build more stoves and sell them at a good price. This will increase the family's income. With the increased income, Lali will improve her family's living conditions.
