Kwekwe is from the coastal region of Kenya. She is a 41-year-old woman who has two children: she lives with the youngest while the oldest is married and independent. She is widowed and struggles to support her son who is in school. Despite all these adversities, Kwekwe has been working hard in her block-selling business for the past three years. She says that things are going very well.
Kwekwe is seeking the loan to buy more blocks to sell. This will be a very helpful investment in her business and it will bring her increased income.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
