Alejandrina lives in Molle Aguada community of the the Mizque province, within the Cochabamba department. She has two dependents and she works in farming and does household chores in her spare time. She had climatic problems (cold, drought) during the last harvest. This disaster caused her investments to fail for the family who supports itself through agricultural production. Each year they produce mainly peanuts, beans, and potatoes on her small parcel of land.
Alejandrina is a well-liked and respected where she lives, because of her dedication to farming and housework, with which she gets her family ahead and meets her own needs. She works to earn a few Pesos, maintain her crops, and pay for her children’s education.
She is asking for this loan in order to finish building her small home that is still in the rough stages. In this way she can improve her quality of life. She works on her small parcel of land with her family. She wants to share her farming income to improve conditions and will make investments at the next opportunity that will allow her to start more financially valuable businesses.
