Stella is 42 years old, and she has been in active farming for over 15 years. She lives in her rural home in Nkubu area of central Kenya with her husband and two children, aged 17 and 9 years.
She produces maize, bananas, peas, and milk. She also runs a tailoring business for additional income besides farming.
Stella has requested a loan of KES 60,000 from Juhudi Kilimo to help her venture into poultry farming. She will buy poultry birds. She is focusing on leading in poultry business, since not many farmers have ventured into poultry in the region. She is, however, aware of the challenge of the high cost of feed.
She hopes to earn enough income to educate her two children.
