Robina's Group
In this Group: Robina, Shama
Robina is 40-year-old hardworking housewife. She is living in Punjab Pakistan with her husband, three daughters, and two sons. Her husband is a security guard by profession, but his monthly income is not enough to fulfill the household expenses of his family. Therefore for the past four-years he has also driven a taxi at night. But currently he is not able to generate any income from the taxi, as its engine is not working properly and needs to be repaired.

Robina, as a member of a two-person lending group, has requested a loan from KIVA partner BRAC Pakistan to meet the amount of repairing the engine of her husband's taxi.

With the profit, her husband wants to open a new auto mechanic shop in future. Robina desires to provide quality education to all her children, and she prays for the good health of her family and for the growth of her husband's business. She is very much thankful to Brac.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
