Saumu is 51 years old and is well-known for her strength of character, commitment to her work, and for helping her daughter to get ahead. She and her family live in the town of Likoni, in the Coast province.
Saumu works from home, making blouses. This is the first loan she has sought from Yehu, and she plans to use the money to buy fabric and thread so she can expand her business. She wants to make blouses, shirts, and skirts as she has very good customers and wishes to serve them even better. In this way she will earn a good living and will be able to continue supporting her daughter through school.
Her dream is to see her daughter prosper in life.
