Mariam is married with five children and four of her children go to school. She doesn’t take care of additional family members. She has a business of selling soft drinks like passion juice, soda and mineral water. She has applied for a loan of 1000000 Uganda shillings from MCDT-SACCO to buy more sacks of passion fruits, a refrigerator, and boxes of mineral water and crates of soda. She has been in this business for four years and sells to all categories of people but on retail. Her major business challenges include seasonality and thieves. She is aspiring of employ two girls to assist in supplying juice, to become a wholesaler and also to build her own house. She resides in a rented house and the family has access to piped water and electricity. Her monthly expenses includes school feeding the family and rent.
