Las Reynas Group
In this Group: Maria Azucena, Mercedes Deyanira, Olga Leticia, San Juanita, Yuri
María Azucena is a member of the “Las Reynas” (The Queens) group. She’s a married, 33-year-old woman living in the city of Monterrey, Nuevo León with her husband and three children who are 13, 10 and 3 years of age, all are attending school. She sells used clothes and toys. She started three years ago selling used clothes that she’d get from family members and acquaintances. She will use the loan to buy shelving because she currently has to store her clothes on the floor.

Azucena mentions that she does very good and only sells four days. Occasionally she brings new clothes but she wants to find a spot where she can sell better and have more customers.

Las Reynas is a very good group that has been with the firm for five cycles.

Additional Information

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
