Jimmy, 35 years old, is a married entrepreneur from Imelda, Aurora with three children and is earning an income from his transport service business. It started three years ago and he earns 6,000 PHP a month. To improve business, he borrowed 15,000 from GDMPC microcredit, which he just joined in 2011 to obtain accessories and tires. Before long, he’s hopeful of the possibility of expanding his business.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
