Claudia Maria
Claudia María, 41, has three children, ages 23, 18 and 16. Two of them are in secondary school and the oldest works as a welder. She also takes care of her father who is very elderly and needs special care. She belongs to the municipality of Chinandega, a place that is in the west of the country, and is characterized by its highly productive trading areas since it is a border town. In terms of its crops it is characterized by its sugarcane harvest.

Claudia María makes a living selling commodities (adult and children's clothing, shoes and cosmetics). Claudia María is a very hard-working and responsible woman with a drive for self-improvement. She needs financing to make improvements to her home such as changing the roof of her father's room to offer him better living conditions, and the construction of a wall and roof for the kitchen since it is currently a makeshift kitchen.

She has wanted to make these improvements for six years but because of a lack of economic resources, she has not been able to make them, since she has other obligations such as feeding and educating her children and taking care of her father.

With financing, she will buy construction material such as zinc, cement, nails, sand, blocks and wood. Claudia thanks the Kiva investors for the help they offer people who are disadvantaged and from poor countries like Nicaragua.
