Natela is from the Kharagauli district. She is 53 years old and lives with her husband, son and two grandsons. The children go to the local school. Natela’s husband and son work as artisans and earn a monthly income. The family runs an agricultural business. In particular, they own a plot of land where different kinds of vegetables are grown. They have a vineyard as well. Natela is involved in the dairy farm. She has two milk cows, two calves and two oxen. Natela produces dairy products and sells locally. She works hard, but still doesn’t have enough income for savings and to improve the living conditions of the family.

Natela requested a loan to repair her house. The existing house is old and damaged. She will purchase building materials and renovate her house. Then, the living conditions of the family will be improved and they will be able to spend their evenings after a hard working day in a more comfortable environment. Natela hopes for your help and kindness.

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
