Mzia is from the village of Nasaguri, East Georgia. She is 41 years old and lives with her family -- husband, mother-in-law and three children (14, 17 and 18 years old). Two of her children go to the local school and her elder daughter is a student. Her mother-in-law is provided with a retirement pension. Mzia’s husband works as a distributor and gets a monthly income. The family is involved in an animal husbandry business. In particular, they have 2 milk cows and 3 pigs. Mzia produces yogurt and cheese, which is sold locally. The family plans to fatten pigs and sell them during the winter season.
Mzia requested a loan to cultivate a plot of land and sow wheat. The family will do all relevant seasonal work to make a good harvest. The harvested wheat will be sold and this will increase the income for the family. With the increased income, Mzia will improve the living conditions for her family and insure a better future for them.
