The reason Bonevasius attends lectures at the Academy of Maritime Nusantara is that he would like to work in port administration in Indonesia. He comes from the village of Kapuas Hulu, in the upper Kapuas River, the largest river in Kalimantan Island, Indonesia. The local conditions and the situation of his origin motivate him to learn and aspire to be a professional employee in a harbor.
However, Bonevasius faces difficulties in his studies because his two parents have died. During this time, he was funded by his siblings, but his siblings are now married and each has a child. The income of the siblings is not fixed because they are only laborers, and they also have to pay for their children who are still in school. Bonevasius hopes to get a loan from Kiva through the student loan program. He is very grateful to Kiva investors who are willing to help him to continue his studies.
