Ronelyn is a 36-year old resident of Clarin. She has helped her family for five years with the small income of 8,000 Philippine Pesos (PHP) she gets monthly from her piggery, which is in addition to her husband's income.
However just this year she joined GDMPC and is applying for a loan of 30,000 PHP to buy feeding supplies. She wants to expand her business one day.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
