Rima is a 46-year-old Lebanese single woman living alone. She’s facing bad financial conditions, especially after her family’s nonexistence next to her.
In 2004, she started to work as a beautician. She works from home and also visits customers wherever they are located to provide them with her high-quality beauty services.
Today, she is requesting a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to purchase a laser machine so that she can improve her business operations and follow up on the new fashion. This is her first Kiva loan and she is very thankful for the results attained so far.
The demand for beauty and fashion products continues to be high and that is a good chance for Rima to enlarge her business and maybe hire more employees to help her with her job.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
