Lorenza
Lorenza, the borrower, is a humble woman of low income. She studied only up to primary school and is married. She lives in the tiny village of Humatoma and has four children who go to school. Humatoma, a locality close to Patacamaya, is where she has her fields where she grows potatoes, carrots, and other produce. She has been growing more and more, especially during the last season, which enabled her to sell her produce to La Paz. Her income has also improved, but her lack of resources means that, in order to have more working capital to earn more, she needs to improve her production. To do that, she needs to buy certified seeds and natural fertiliser in order to increase production, and earn more money so as to be able to provide for her family. Her family is used to humble living that follows the principles of her grandparents, and Lorenza needs help to have a better income.
