Gérardine buys her supplies in a market in Benin. In order to satisfy her clients and increase her working capital, Gérardine and the other members of ENAGNON are asking for a fourth loan. This loan will help them better respond to the demands of their clients and to increase profits. Their three previous loans have been repaid.

ENAGNON est un groupe de trois personnes, dont les membres vivent dans le même quartier. La représentante du groupe, Gérardine (dont la main est levée sur la photo), est âgée de 52 ans et est mariée à un certain Albert. Le couple a quatre enfants dont certains scolarisés et tous à leur charge. Gérardine et son mari vivent ensemble avec les enfants et assurent ensemble les différentes charges des enfants. Gérardine n’a pas fréquenté l’école. Il y a cinq ans que Gérardine vend des friperies dans un marché du Bénin. Parallèlement à cette activité, Gérardine exerce la couture. Gérardine exerce cette activité passionnément, ce qui lui permet de subvenir à ses besoins et à ceux de ses enfants. Gérardine s’approvisionne dans un marché du Bénin. Dans la quête de la satisfaction de sa clientèle et en vue d’augmenter son fonds de roulement, Gérardine sollicite un quatrième crédit avec les autres membres du groupe ENAGNON. Ce crédit leur servira à mieux répondre aux demandes de leur clientèle et à se faire plus de profits. Les trois prêts antérieurement reçus ont été bien remboursés.

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000.
