Wissam is a 34-year-old Lebanese single man living on his own. He is obligated to cover his household expenses as he is the only one responsible for having a proper way of living. He started to work as a painter many years ago and still does. He also makes Gypsum decorations. He works on a free-lance basis and is considered friendly, especially by his loyal customers.
Today, he is requesting to take out a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to purchase additional painting supplies and Gypsum boards to be able to handle his new project. This loan will open a new door for him to take on bigger projects and increase his productivity by 30%. In the future, he plans to take on bigger projects and increase his revenues.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
