Hoeurn is 23 years old and a resident of Ang Snoul district, Kandal province. Hoeurn is married with a small kid who utterly relies on her care. Hoeurn, aside from her main duties of taking care of her family, helps her spouse earn income with her sewing skills. She works in a local garment factory where she can generate a decent salary for her household. She says she has been working in this field for three years already.
Hoeurn comes to HKL for the first time to gain access to financial assistance to better her living situation. Hoeurn would like to acquire a loan of $1,200 to purchase a motorcycle to serve her family as transportation. With this purchase, Hoeurn and her husband can travel to their workplaces easily without paying for public transportation or taxi services. In the future, Hoeurn wants to have a convenience store, selling various kinds of merchandise to people in her neighborhood.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
