Lela is 33 years old and lives in Abasha district with her family which includes her husband, 3 children (aged 2, 11 and 14) and mother-in-law. Two of her children attend the local school. The family earns their living through an agricultural business. In particular, they have a plot of land, where nuts, watermelons and maize are grown. Lela sells her agricultural production at the local open market. In addition, she runs a small dairy farm and has 7 milk cows. Lela milks the cows and produces cheese, which is sold locally.
She is requesting a loan to build a cattle-shed. She plans to expand the dairy farm by adding additional cows, but the existing cattle-shed doesn’t allow her to implement this plan. After the cattle-shed is built, Lela will be able to expand her dairy farm and increase her sales. This will increase the income of the family. With the increased income, she plans to finance her children's education and improve the living conditions of her family.
