Omar, 24, is married and lives in downtown Msambweni. He is known to be honest and hardworking and, most of all, to have a strong desire to succeed. His wife is a housewife and he has worked as a teacher for some time. This is how he earns income to support his family. He is also a farmer, assisted by his wife. Omar has been farming for five years and he confesses that it has been good work. He grows a variety of vegetables which his wife sells from home and at the market. He is requesting this loan to buy fertilisers and planting materials. Omar's main desire is to see his home in excellent condition and to improve his quality of life.

This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
