Abdel Karim is a 48 year old man living in Lebanon. He got married to Nadia, a wonderful and supportive woman. They have only one child attending school. His greatest dream is to offer his child a better life, especially with being the main income provider in the family.
Abdel Karim has been working at a local gas station. As for his wife, she has worked as a teacher at a local school for 15 years. Through their jobs, they will be able to cover their child's study fees as best they can. Despite that, Abdel Karim finds it really hard to stand on his own.
To help him continue paying his child’s education fees, he asks a loan from Kiva Partner Ameen s.a.l. In that way, he will help his child achieve a good educational level, even pursue higher degrees. With this opportunity, his child will start his own business and no doubt create a better and new way of living.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
