Khaldoun is a 49-year-old Lebanese married man. He lives with his wife and two children. He has been working as a private teacher since 1995. He likes his occupation because he feels that he is helping learners to get the needed education. In parallel, he teaches at a local school and has gained many years of experience. His wife is a teacher as well. They cooperate to gather enough money to be able to pay the heavy life expenses.
Today, he’s applying for a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to arrange a special room in his house where he can receive his students and equip it with required materials and supplies. These materials will facilitate his work preparation and will help him do research and studies which will improve his teaching skills. He really wishes to receive more students with the coming school year.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
