Njira, 43, is married to Mkalla. They have five children and they live in downtown Mwambalazi.
Njira has had a fish selling business for four years in a strategically located spot at the market. Thanks to her sacrifice she’s getting ahead and also helping her husband with everyday expenses.
She’s asking for the loan to increase her working capital to increase her sales. With the loan, she will purchase more fish and cooking oil. Her dream is to open a retail shop.

This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
