Ester, 32, is married and has two children. She lives in the Philippines. Ester sells barbecue sticks to earn a living. She has been doing this for eight years, and she earns 5,500 Philippines pesos (PHP) a month from this work.
She has requested a loan of 22,000 PHP to buy more materials to make barbecue sticks. In 2010, Ester joined GDMPC. In the future, Ester hopes to improve the general living conditions of her family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
