María Martha
María has been a member of the “14 de Agosto” communal bank for ten years. She lives in Zhidmad Parish in Cuenca. Its topography is quite fractured which gives it picturesque scenery. Its people are proud to retain their culture and traditions. They work in agriculture, animal husbandry and many of them have various jobs in the city.

María, 49, is married and has four children. Three of them are already married and live on their own; her youngest daughter attends school in the city and her husband works in construction. The house she lives in is her property.

María is a very enterprising person who has several occupations. One of them is agriculture and what she grows is for home consumption. She also works as a day laborer in the fields when she’s asked to and also works raising cattle, guinea pigs, chickens and pigs that she sells in her community. In addition she sells frozen treats on weekends.

She will use her loan to buy alfalfa seeds to improve her pasture land and will also buy guinea pigs, chicks and pigs to continue growing in this business.

Doña María conforma el banco comunal 14 de Agosto hace 10 años, vive por la parroquia de Zhidmad en Cuenca, tiene una geografía accidentada la cual le regala pintorescos paisajes, a su gente le orgullece aun mantener su cultura y tradiciones, se dedican a laborar en la agricultura, cría de animales y muchos salen diariamente a la ciudad a laborar en distintas plazas de trabajo.

La Señora. María tiene 49 años, es casada y en su unión conyugal ha concebido 4 hijos, tres de ellos ya son casados y viven independientes, y su ultima hija estudia en una colegio de la ciudad. Su esposo labora como albañil, la casa en la que viven es de su propiedad.

Doña María es una mujer muy emprendedora ya que se dedica a varios oficios, uno de ellos es la agricultura que es para el consumo de su casa, trabaja cuando la llaman como jornalera, se dedica a la cría de ganado, cuyes, pollos y cerdos los que vende en su comunidad, también los fines de semana se dedica a la venta de helados.

Su crédito lo va a invertir en la compra de semillas de alfalfa para mejorar sus potreros y también va a comprar cuyes, pollos y cerdos para continuar creciendo en este negocio.
