Julita of Baclay, Tukuran, Zamboanga del Sur has been raising pigs for more than 5 years and earns 5,200 PHP per month. She’s 33 years old now, yet continues to hang on with her piggery livelihood to give adequate life for her 2 children. She been a member of GDMPC since 2011.
In order to enhance her livestock upon selling, she borrows an amount of 7,000 PHP from GDMPC microcredit to purchase feeding supplies. Julita hopes that someday, her children will be successful in their careers.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
