Lydia is from Tagulalo, Aurora. She is 66 years old, married, and has three children. To make a living, Lydia owns and operates a manufacturing business. Lydia has been engaged in her business for 12 years and earns 8,000 PHP a month for these activities. In 2008, Lydia joined GDMPC.
Lydia is requesting a loan of 10,000 PHP which will be used to purchase raw materials to manufacture new products and to pay for labor costs. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve her family's general living conditions.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
