Poni is a thirty-three-year-old businesswoman who lives in Juba. She is married and has two children aged four and eight, both of whom go to school. Poni runs a salon, and has been in business for three years. She has one employee. She heard about Finance Sudan through other clients.
She is taking a loan of 800 SDG to purchase weaves and many other items. Aside from this business she has no other source of income. In five years Poni would like to expand her business. Her major challenges include high prices in the market. Poni says she is happy for the loans given by Finance Sudan with the help of Kiva.
