Loan was born in 1988. She has two little children. Her husband is a car repairer. She weaves bamboo and sells stationery for a living and gains from it 2,000,000 VND per month. The total earnings of her family is about 6,000,000 VND per month. She has taken part in the crediting program of SEDA since 2011. In the last cycle, she borrowed 5,152,000 VND and repaid this loan on time. In this loan cycle, she wants to borrow 7,392,000 VND to invest in her bamboo weaving. Then, she hopes her business can get enough money to pay for her children’s education fees.
The Center of Small Enterprise Development Assistance (SEDA) is a non-profit organization whose vision is to create “a society without poverty.” Founded in 2004, SEDA provides microfinance services to low-income and disadvantaged people in rural areas of Hanoi and the northern provinces of Vietnam through its Binh Minh Micro-Finance Program.
