He says that when he was young, he had great troubles [with respect to] obtaining work that would allow him to continue with his studies. Having found no [job that would allow this], he did not complete is education. At the present time, he is content with his life in the field since it has brought him a great deal of satisfaction and has allowed him to live a peaceful life with a great number of plans for the future.

This is his first loan with MFP [Microfinanzas Prisma]. He is happy and grateful for the financial support that [MFP] offers him to continue with his business. In addition to this, he is comfortable with the credit counselor and the members of his community bank because he [personally] knows the members. The majority of [the members] are his neighbors, and he considers them to be responsible people.

With the requested amount of 1000 nuevo soles [Peruvian currency], he will purchase corn seeds and fertilizer to start a new [crop] planting. He will also contract out the transportation of his yucca harvest to the market.

Luis tiene 61 años, es un hombre trabajador y empeñoso, además de amable y alegre. Tiene dos hijos, con quienes vive en su casa propia, la que compró gracias a los ahorros obtenidos de su trabajo durante mucho tiempo.

Su actividad es la agricultura. Tiene un terreno de 10 hectáreas de extensión, ahí siembra yuca, maíz y, en algunas temporadas, plátanos. Por la zona en la que vive considera que el suelo es propicio para la siembra de yuca, su producción es muy buena y la calidad de sus productos son acorde a las exigencias de sus clientes. Realiza la venta de todo lo que cosecha en el mercado principal de su localidad. Lleva en este negocio más de 15 años y trabaja siempre con la ayuda de dos personas a quienes contrata para realizar las principales labores de campo. Le gusta la agricultura, inicialmente se decidió por esta actividad por la necesidad de tener un oficio, ya que comenta que cuando fue joven tuvo muchas dificultades para conseguir trabajo que permitieran continuar con sus estudios. Al no encontrar alguno no completó sus estudios secundarios, en la actualidad se siente conforme con su vida en el campo, ya que le ha traído muchas satisfacciones y le permite llevar una vida tranquila y con muchos planes para el futuro.

Este es su primer préstamo con MFP, se siente contento y agradecido por el apoyo financiero que le brindan para continuar con su negocio. Además se siente a gusto con el asesor de crédito y con los miembros de su banco comunal, pues conoce a sus integrantes, que en su mayoría son sus vecinos, y los considera personas responsables.
Con el monto solicitado, de 1000 nuevos soles, comprará semillas de maíz y abono para iniciar una nueva siembra. También contratará el servicio de carga para transportar su cosecha de yuca al mercado.
