Pauline Ibukun left school at the secondary level. She now coordinates a non governmental organization in Benin.

She has been making and selling liquid soap for almost fifteen years now, buying her supplies in Benin. She has a passion for her work, which allows her to meet her needs and those of her children.

In order to satisfy her customers' needs, she is requesting her first loan, along with the members of the ELE-GBE group. This loan will allow them to better meet their customers' needs and to make more profits.

ELE-GBE est un groupe de trois personnes, dont les membres résident dans le même quartier au Bénin. La représentante du groupe, Pauline Ibukun (dont la main est levée sur la photo), est âgée 46 ans. Ne vivant plus avec son mari, Pauline Ibukun est mère de deux enfants dont un scolarisé, et tous à sa charge. Pauline Ibukun vit seule avec ses enfants et assure les différentes charges des enfants. Pauline Ibukun a arrêté l’école au cours secondaire. Pauline Ibukun est la coordonnatrice d’une ONG du Bénin. Il y a près de quinze ans que Pauline Ibukun vend des savons liquides qu'elle prépare elle même. Pauline Ibukun exerce cette activité passionnément, ce qui lui permet de subvenir à ses besoins et à ceux de ses enfants. Pauline Ibukun s’approvisionne au Bénin. Dans la quête de la satisfaction de sa clientèle, Pauline Ibukun sollicite un premier crédit avec les membres du groupe ELE-GBE. Ce crédit leur servira à mieux répondre aux demandes de leur clientèle et à se faire plus de profits.

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients.
