Emerita tiene 53 años, es una mujer muy carismática, luchadora y con ganas de seguir adelante. Está casada con Marcos, quien es empleado, tiene dos hijos pero ya son adultos e independientes. Actualmente vive con su esposo y sus padres, quienes son de edad avanzada.

Ella se dedica a la venta de libros, para esto cuenta acondicionó un espacio en su vivienda, de esta manera ahorra en gastos de alquiler. Su mercadería la obtiene comprando semanalmente de la ciudad principal que queda a 35 Km. de su pueblo. Atiende todos los días, desde muy temprano, con la ayuda de su esposo. Inició este negocio hace 5 años, tiempo en el cual ha llegado a ser muy conocida y solicita en la localidad donde vive. Lo que le gusta de su trabajo es que su labor es reconocida en la zona ya que algunas veces participa en eventos como ferias o premiaciones de lectura organizadas por instituciones educativas. Además su actividad le genera los ingresos económicos que le da la tranquilidad para enfrentar los gastos que se le presentan durante el día. Comenta que escogió esta actividad por la necesidad de desempeñar un oficio y sentirse una mujer productiva, por tanto tiene muchas ganas de seguir creciendo en su rubro y ampliar su negocio.
