Mr. Malick is 36 years old and lives with his two children and his wife in the sub-prefecture of Ouelessebougou, Koulikoro region.

Malick never had the opportunity to attend school. Very early on he took an interest in revenue-generating activities, in particular the trading of flashlights, light bulbs and other various items. He learned this trade from his maternal uncle who was previously a successful trader of various items.

With the intent of meeting the needs of his growing customer base, he decided to partner with Soro Yiriwaso. This is his first individual loan, which he will use to purchase various items such as: flashlights, light bulbs, wire, and flashlight lenses from wholesalers in Bamako. He will resell them in Ouelessebougou and the surrounding villages to a mix of customers who buy on credit or cash.

Malick hopes to make an average monthly profit of 45,000 Francs CFA that will be used to repay his loan and the balance being reinvested back in his business.
