Dragan
Dragan is married and has one child who is 17 years old. He lives in a Serbian community in Kosovo. For more than 12 years, he has worked in the agricultural business. Dragan had started working to address the family needs, and in the last five years, he has started to plant vegetables for his family's consumption and to sell to other people in the area.

Dragan has a greenhouse and works with his tractor on his land. His wife sometimes helps him when she has free time and is not working in a shop as a salesperson. Currently, Dragan generates more income with planting different vegetables and selling to a motel near where he lives. He has a deal with this motel to plant and supply for them.

He needs a loan to pay for the new tractor and to buy materials to build another greenhouse, specifically for this business deal with the motel. The loan will help him to grow his business and generate more income. He hopes that, in this way, he will be able to improve the living conditions of his family. He thanks all of the Kiva lenders.

More information about this loan

This loan will support the economic aspirations of minority people in Kosovo. Roma people and ethnic Serbians have historically faced a tremendous amount of hardship in Kosovo, and are still socioeconomically and politically vulnerable. During the 1998-1999 war, the fighting displaced 250,000 people. Among those displaced were an estimated 80-90% of the region’s Roma population. Today, Roma and ethnic Serbians living in Kosovo still face discrimination and are excluded from many aspects of society, including fair political representation and high rates of unemployment. By supporting this loan you are helping provide opportunity to marginalized populations.
