Saroeurt is a 33 year-old married mother of one son. The rest of her family resides in the Kror Lanh district of Siem Reap province, Cambodia. To support her household, she plants the rice in a paddy and works for others for a fee. Having been with this business for two years, she is able to earn about 15,000 KHR per day. Saroeurt's group consists of two members as who are first time borrowers. The amount she is requesting is 1,000,000 KHR whereas her co-members are seeking 500,000 KHR. As the group leader, she will use her loan portion to buy fertilizer for her rice field. She hopes to earn more income from her current business and maintain good progress of her family's living condition.

VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.

Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
